Another day in paradise, so okay this is not the Whitsundays but what the heck, lovely warm sunshine and (eventually) a good easterly breeze. The race started just off the clubhouse with a beat to the easterly mark, located a few hundred metres north of the Humbug. The lasers’ took the lead with young Cameron being squeezed right on the start line, Cameron got his revenge on the next tack though with a neatly laid leebow! Three Sparrows and the Dolphin training vessel (cleverly sailed by two old blokes) brought up the rear. Cameron went on to win the race which is quite an achievement for the teenager, he beat some pretty good opposition! Congratulations go out to all the kids (teenagers) including Cameron, Heidi, Nick and Rachel; it is so good to see the kids coming through the sail training and now doing the OTB races. A special mention goes to Simon Meyer, a great effort in a Sparrow and only two dunkings this time. Hope to see you all on the water next time.
